Chrome - Annoying Tab Fades

anyone have any idea on how to get rid of this stupid thing? it annoys me mucho. i was happy with the way firefox used "..." for long title names. this whole fade thing is just too ugly for me to bear.

Doesn't look like it. I tried applying a theme but that didn't work.

You can't. You also can't get rid of "Other Bookmarks" in the bookmarks bar.

heh, just found out this only happens on osx. windows os uses the elipsees
