I was in a car accident today and my 2-day-old iphone took some considerable damage on the chrome border.

Any ideas on how to fix/mend/minimize the damage? Nothing else on the phone is damaged, btw... It took the hit with nothing but chorme scratches.

So... Anything short of going brushed-metal-style?

well i just went brushed metal style (had scratches from the incase sleeve) and I love it more than the original shiny chrome and now I don't have to be annoyed by the little scratches/dings.

The brushed metal thing ... is that bezel piece just chromed plastic? Or is it solid metal?

    Metal.

It was the only thing left after the "Will it blend? iPhone" thing.

The only thing that feels plastic are the buttons on the phone and the antenna. Everything else is either glass or metal.

Also, the very very top of the glass has a nick (bordering the chrome and the black speaker area).

Is there anyway to repair this too?

Any other suggestions on the phone?

Is it worth just paying the 10% stocking fee and giving it back to the Cingular store and buying another iPhone from another local store? I have about 10 days left to make that choice. The chome is scratched pretty much all around and the glass has that one little nick at the very top.

This has been covered many times, why on earth do you think they would take back a product you clearly damaged??
