Chrome freeze

Has anyone experienced momentary freezing when initially switching focus to Chrome from another app on Mountain Lion? My keyboard freezes up for a few seconds everytime I switch back to Chrome from another active app. I've read somewhere that it may be related to the awesome bar. I did instinctively hit the CMD+L everytime but even after forcing myself to not do that I still experience the freeze.
