Hey guys, I could use some help. I got this iMac this June and loving it. But even then on older Chrome with Sierra, I noticed that it had a flickering issue when there's a page 'overlay' element. Like, in facebook when you click on a picture, or if you click new tweet on twitter, or some details on youtube.. whatever, including this forum where you in-line edit for example.

I've tried all sorts of things, and can't resolve it. In fact, the last week it has gotten a lot worse. I am on High Sierra now and Chrome's on the latest version. I tried Chromium, the beta channel of Chrome, and older version. It doesn't seem to have an effect.

I've turned off hardware acceleration and used that for a week, and on.. no difference.
I have been running without extensions, but it happened even before I even ever installed any extension.

Maybe someone recognizes this weird overlay behavior and knows why it is going wrong. Looking forward to some ideas, suggestions, etc. Before I get so frustrated that I feel I have to try a fresh installation of the os.

In the video I mentioned that I dont remember if i have this issue in safari. while the video was uploading to youtube I checked: it doesn't.. this is a chrome browser issue it seems, safari is perfect.

It would seem you're asking for a fix of Chrome in regards to Sierra and High Sierra. I doubt a reinstallation will help. I also doubt that anyone here is a developer working on Chrome.

Eh, it's not like everybody on this forum have been posting that they have this issue with their new iMac and / or Chrome .. implying it's perhaps an issue caused by me, or .. whatever..

I didn't ask for a developer to fix Chrome for me, I am trying to identify the issue so I can attempt to address it.

Since I can hardly find anything on it, I am also hoping that those who do recognize this issue can perhaps share so, hopefully with a way that they've fixed it.
