Hello ppl,

This is a strange problem, which I have struggled with for about a week.

Whenever I start Chrome, a sign pops up that says "Google Chrome wants to use your confidential information stored in "www.extremeusenet.nl (thrash)" in your keychain.". I'm familiar with this sign, and know what it means. I always press "Deny" because..

..the extremeusenet site is NOT open. Nor is there ANYTHING related to that site in either history or cookies. Another strange fact is, that if I have not logged in to Chrome with my Google account, the problem does NOT occur. As soon as I sign in, the sign pops up just a few seconds later. I have tried deleting Chrome along with all related local data on the machine, and reinstalling it. Everything was well, until I signed in.. I also went to my Google Dashboard, where I wiped all synced data, as well as removed any trace of extremeusenet from my search history. So there should be nothing related to that site floating around in my Google account. Problem persists!

I know that I can most likely make it go away, by deleting the extremeusenet entry from my keychain. Easily done. But I wish to take the high road, and get to the bottom of this. WHY the f*** is this happening? It makes no sense! Does it?

Does anybody know anything about this? :(

Try this.. Close your browsers.

Remove the site from your Keychain:
Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access

In the search block (top right) search for "extremeusenet" (or any website you have that issue with) and delete all references.

I grew very tired of this problem, so I have officially given up now. I killed the Keychain entry, and the problem went away. Obviously.
