Google Chrome has randomly started to crash every time I open the app. I can't doing anything, it just force quits right away. Any ideas?

Completely uninstall Chrome using a program such as AppDelete, download the latest version from Google, and reinstall.

I've had no problems with Chrome on my MBP running Yosemite.

Disable all your extensions, then reenable one at a time to see which one(s) might be causing issues.

It's possible one of your extensions is not compatible with the 64-bit update. Do as was suggested by disabling them one at a time. If it ends up being an extension you use regularly, you could roll back to a previous version of the browser and disable its auto update.

Are you running 10.10.2 and a Trackpad? If so it's a BT bug.

How am I supposed to delete extensions if I can't even get it to stay open for longer than a second?

I had the same problem. Only thing was Chrome also was very slow on youtube's HTML5 player as well. I went back to 10.10.1 until that is resolved.

10.10.2 is still in beta and available to developers only. The Chrome crash bug is a known issue.

Any update on this issue? I've tried completely deleting Chrome and re-launching. Auto-crash straight away. :(

No reason to go back that far. My chrome operates quite fine on 10.10.1

I didn't consider 10.9.5 much more of a jump back and I know it worked better for me than 10.10 in any form so far, my Beachballs and slow downs weren't just limited to Chrome......

I'll try Yosemite again in 3 or 4 months after the smoke settles :).

Hopefully! I personally miss snow leopard but so far Yosemite hasn't cause any hiccups since the official release for me besides a few 3rd party issues like chrome not looking the 10.10.2 trackpad drivers

Agreed, SL has been my favorite for a long time. I'm getting fairly tired working through the .0, .1, .2 series of OSX "upgrades" and keep promising myself never to upgrade until OS reached at least .4 ......:D

.... and YES, I do clean installs :D:D:D

By deleting the Chrome folder from your /User/Library/Application Support folder.

Even though I am now using 10.10.1. I agree that 10.9.5 is still better than 10.10.1 in terms of stability and reliability.
