Chronic Issue: Mac Studio Audio Output via Headphone Jack

Hello everyone. I'm hoping someone has either experience or found a solution to this use case.

I have a Studio M1 Max and use external speakers via the headphone jack. For unknown reasons to me, the audio will be delayed upon waking from sleep or restart UNLESS I raise the volume a bit first.

In other words, zero audio (even if I wait minutes) unless I click volume up three to four times first.

Anyone have a clue or see this behavior prior?

I've got that same Studio and use the same audio setup. No problems.
