I loved the books and the old BBC series, so I'm almost afraid to go see this new version. I think the Silver Chair and the Voyage of the Dawn Treader are the best two books IMO.

I don't want to ever hear Narnia referred to as being secondary to LoTR just because the movies came out after, I personally prefer the Chronicles over Tolkien, and I'm as irreligious as you can get. I remember being surprised when I found out they are allegories of the Bible, I was like WAAAAAH? and then felt weird about liking them. eventually though I realized that it's not a bad thing that they are so theological, rather it is impressive how great a story Lewis can tell about religion without beating you over the head with the Christianity stick.

on a related note, long ago I constructed a lamp post in a wooded area that gets quite white with snow. it's part of my literary side that like recreating small real-world references to my favorite stories in random locations as 'found art' sort of things for people to come across. I left Tom & Huck's raft on the banks of a river once, started building a small cabin in the woods for Uncle Tom but never finished it, have planted a tree on a hill, etc. etc.

if you ever find find a sign post that says "Eve and Adam's" past the riverrun, then you'll know it was my doing ;)
