cinema display question

Is there any way to turn the brightness of the display down lower than the lowest setting, I am finding the lowest setting still rather bright and glaring in a dim room.

Maybe a piece of software or something any one know about?

You might be able to get it a little darker by going to System Preferences and then Displays and sliding the slider. But it's a slim chance.
