    Hey guys,

Is there a way of connecting a 27" Cinema Display together with a 27" Thunderbolt Display to a new generation Mac Mini ?

Is this possible at all ?

there has had to been at least 2 dozen threads about this..
If you are asking if you can use 2 displays with your mini, it must of the none intel hd 3000 graphics. You need the upgraded graphics card
    Mini>Thunderbolt display>cinema display

    Thanks for your reply,

Yes I know about the Mini, I will be looking at getting the Mini with the AMD card and not the base model.

As for connecting the Cinema Display to the Thunderbolt, I still can't picture it.

You connect the Thunderbolt Display via the cable attached to the display itself to the Mini, I get that part, but how does the Cinema Display attach to the Thunderbolt Display itself ? Does the Mini Displayport cable from the Cinema Display plug into the Thunderbolt port on the TB Display ?

    Just read this...

Mini DisplayPort displays will not light up if connected to the Thunderbolt port on an Apple Thunderbolt Display (27-inch)

Yes you plug the thunderbolt display into the thunderbolt port of the mini. The cinema display's mini display port cable goes into the the thunderbolt displays port.

Unfortunately no you can't. You can connect one 27" Thunderbolt display to the a Mac mini, then connect another 27" Thunderbolt display to the first Thunderbolt display. However you can not connect a 27" Cinema display to a 27" Thunderbolt display. Reason is the 27" Thunderbolt display outputs a Thunderbolt signal whereas the 27" Cinema display accepts Displayport signals only.
The only way to connect a 27" Thunderbolt display to a 27" Cinema display is to put another Thunderbolt peripheral, such a LaCie Little Big Disk or a Promise Pegasus, in between the Thunderbolt display and the Cinema display. Macworld tested this successfully. Macworld link.
AnandTech has a detailed review of the 27" Thunderbolt display. AnandTech link.

The above advice is correct. This will not work, but you could possibly use the HDMI output to connect the ACD. So connect the ATD via the TB port and then you would need a device like a "Kanex HDMIMDPGB XD HDMI to Mini Display Port Converter", which would be connected to your Mini's HDMI port and then to your ACD. Unfortunately HDMI can only carry up signal with up to 1920x1200 resolution and I cannot guarantee that this will work.
