I have my 2,2Ghz MacBook (late 2007 model )connected up to a 2002 Cinema HD Display 23" through an adapter together with an external keyboard + mouse.

I usually work on my mac in closed clamshell mode (laptop lid closed and just using my external display to work on). Ever since I have installed snow leopard I keep on having this recurring problem sometimes (not always) in wich the external monitor does not want to get out of sleep and the cinema display's power button starts flashing continuously like a christmas tree on steroids.

I've tried unplugging/plugging in the display cord multiple times but this keeps the screen dead and the power button flashing. Pressing the Cinema Displays power button in all imaginable patterns doesn't help either. Even rebooting doesn't help.

And then every time again, it takes a few days and then it suddenly works perfect again 😕.

I hope anyone could be of help.
Thanks in advance!,
Fred
