Wow I really wish you went with Square avatars. So much easier.
Are there any Mac programs that let you crop to a circle?

After 9 years of being avatar-less, @MacDawg suggested I get an avatar.

First try from this pic of the Pacific Northwest coastline (Olympic National Park) taken last August near Forks, Washington where Twilight was filmed. It really did feel very spooky and vampire-ish. Gorgeous place to vacation and unwind.

But your circle avatar removed all the sky which made it look odd.

Are there any Mac programs that let you crop to a circle?

The images used for round avatars are still rectangles, and the forums software just puts a round masking filter over it.

The built in Preview app lets you do lots of stuff, including using a round mask.
