Cisco Systems came out with a full-page ad in the NYT to promote its' "iPhone":

Phone. I don't know if this is a matter of pride on Steve's part or what, but Apple needs to wake up and realize that it's a dumb name. I can understand wanting a unique product name, but iPhone isn't even unique. The nice thing about the iPod is that pod is such an unusual word, but the same really can't be said for iPhone--it just sounds so generic.
