"Trainer", like a tutorial or "trailer"?
Or do you mean the walkthroughs and cheats or even torrents one can found via using a www search engine?

If you play Civ. V on the PC, you can download a program called a trainer.....it runs while the game is running..and allows you to give yourself advantages like unlimited movements.

I've actually used the internet before, believe it or not. I am asking this question because I haven't been able to find the MAC equivalent by searching.

I didn't know. But does it exist for Mac OS X? I haven't found anything like what you are talking about.
Maybe a more descriptive thread title could also help.

There's a program called "The Cheat" which might be able to do this. It isn't specifically made for Civ V, but it does allow you to change some values in games.
