Please report on this game if you are playing. It looks good from what I have seen.

I am already tired of we rule and god finger.....

This is a good example of when a Demo would come in handy and result in more money for the developer.

I would love age of empires but I don't think we are going to see it anytime soon.

I'm also interested for anyone with first-hand experience with this game. I've been a fan of these games since about 1990 on the Mac LC.

Reviews by iTunes users say the game is buggy and crashes a lot.

Also, I'd be curious about any RTS games, like Red Alert ... there actually is a Red Alert game for iPad, but sounds like there's no resource management?

Oh Crap. Now I won't get any work done at all :)

I am not a games person, but when I first got Civ I on a PC, I ended up playing for 24 hours straight. Each successive version has been a huge time sink.

From what I can tell it's a port from the iPhone version. I read that on the iPhone the big complaint was screen size which makes sense. I really need to have a demo in order to fork over 10 plus for these apps.

I have the free demo version on my iPhone. Is the demo no longer available???

It's ok. It is by no means the "full" civ, some things were simplified to play better/faster, but it is fun and the basic game is all there.. Explore, build up, fight, tech tree, wonders, etc.

I've bought it and played it a few times. Looks good so far. Easy to use and the play is about the same as the desktop. The one thing I don't like (maybe figured out yet?) is that you get a ton of update messages from your advisers. Really annoying. But other than that I really enjoy it. Godfinger and We Rule got old really fast.

well if its the same basic game as the iPhone version I would say go ahead and get it if youre a fan of civ games. The real reason I never liked it on the iPhone was screen size, but on the ipad it wont be problem.

I just spent about 45 minutes starting a game. I've built four ciies and defeated a few barbarians, and had an inconclusive short war with another country. I haven't played the iPhone version. In comparison with desktop versions, it feels a little simplified, which is good as it fits the touch UI better.

So far, so good. It's fast and seems fun. It captures the spirit of the game as we know it on other computers. I'd recommend it to people who are already Civ fans. For others ... who knows.

The iPad civ game is Civ Revolutions, a console adaptation available on xbox, nintendo ds and probably a bunch of other platforms. It's meant to be more simplified and supposedly geared toward non-veterans.

A couple of weeks ago I spent about 5 to 6 hrs playing it and it worked out great. No complaints.
