OK Lawyer. . . would you take this case on commission only? That is my test. Would you?

I'm assuming you mean contingency and not commission. The amounts here are so small that nobody would litigate over it. Two hours of my time would buy him a brand new iPad.

You must not be that great of a lawyer.

Any pointers you could give me?

When you graduate from a top 15 law school give me a shout.

Oh really? Most people who are in such a position wouldn't use said position and try to act like some authority on the situation. Especially not considering you haven't given any actual laws, references, or anything to back your claim.

Also, if you really are a top 15 law school graduate (congrats if so, though lawyering is by far the worst of all professions by merit) put your money where your mouth is and prove it.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves here...Somebody was passing off false information as fact and I corrected them.

I'm not going to bother posting "proof", anything I post will be met with "that could be anybody's diploma!" Don't worry, though, I won't lose any sleep over your doubts. ;)

People like you are what is wrong with the world, I hope something horrible happens to you soon.

+100...i really dislike lawyers like SplicedBanjo. they deliberately abuse the system with frivalous lawsuits. nothing was signed, no pre-payment ever changed hands, and what monetary 'damage' would be hard to prove.

The fact that you don't call it the T14 but the T15 makes me doubt that you graduated from a top law school.

Georgetown is sometimes 15 depending on who you ask. The fact that you guys are so hung up on this leads me to believe that you have really deeply-rooted insecurities about how well you're doing in life. Believe it or not, there will always be someone out there who is taller, better-looking, more successful, married to a more beautiful woman, etc. I am doing well for myself financially and engaged to an absolutely incredible woman, but I realize that there are many, many people out there who have it better than I do. Once you realize this, life becomes a lot less stressful.

This seems to have sidetracked the thread completely, so I'm going to politely bow out of this discussion. If anybody wants to continue, you are welcomed to PM me.

The look on the court clerk's face if someone were to sue in small claims court over something like this would be priceless.

Don't forget to pick up the wage garnishment forms in case they don't pay up all the money they owe you for your Craigslist deal that never happened.

Of all the bad things that can happen to you for using Craigslist (being killed, mugged, shot, robbed, raped, driven to nowhere and left for dead, or being sold a fancy box with a brick inside), you got off easy.

"I'll just insert one final irrelevant brag about how wonderful I am compared to you all and leave swiftly before I'm thrown off my high horse."

I call this BS.

If you were only half as good as you say you are you would not be bragging about it here.

You are likely a clerk at the most!
