Hi,

I bought a Macbook Pro M1 for my wife in October 2021 and a year ago a grey vertical line appeared on the middle of the screen. I've been meaning to take it into Apple but finally decided I will do it this weekend. Is this a know problem? What are my chances of getting a replace under the consumer rights act 2015 (I'm in the UK).

The Act says you have to prove the defect was there are time of manufacture. How do you prove that? Has anyone here successfully got a claim through Apple?

Thanks,
Al

It would be difficult to prove the defect was there at the time of manufacture when it appeared 3 years after you bought it. Live with it or 💸💸 to have it repaired.

Is it not similar to the Bendgate issue? Anyway, I have booked an appointment at the Apple Store this weekend and I'll report back here the outcome.
