In my experience, I've found it easier to simply carry the Apple wireless keyboard around with my iPad. It's easy to just toss into a bag. That way, it doesn't add bulk to the iPad itself, it's optional when you want to use the iPad for gaming, reading or surfing, and I'm not worried about it's longevity. Not to mention, it's about half as expensive.

I'm not particularly fond of Clamcase as a company, either. They seem to be a little shady/uneducated in some respects. For example, when everyone was waiting for their cases to ship (after multiple delays), Clamcase wasn't forthcoming with information at all. They would give fake tracking numbers and ship date estimates, and when the forum on their Facebook page got overrun with irate customers, they simply shut it down (and then said it was a "mistake" when websites like Engadget picked up on it).

The Brando sliding keyboard case is the way to go if you want to turn the iPad into a laptop-ish setup:http://www.rainydaymagazine.com/RDM2011/Home/June/Week1/RDMHomeJun0211.htm#Brando_iPad2KeyboardCase

The best part is the price...under $70!

Tried to buy one of these off their website, but the next day had my order cancelled and money refunded.

Either they don't like shipping international ($3 for shipping, too good to be true...), or it's a scam product and the rainydaymagazine review used a prototype/is a front to see if the market would make it worthwhile for Brando to manufacture them in bulk. Way to use me as your market research Brando, you f***s.

Clearly if YOU could buy one, then...

Clearly if YOU couldn't buy one, then it must be a scam...or maybe they could sense that you sound kinda like a dick and just didn't want to sell you one. Did you ever think of that?

Still, since you did experience an issue, we will ping them before we post the InTheWild write-up to see what is up with that.

What the hell was that? You represent someone? Yikes!

My only complaint of the ZAGG is how much of a PITA it is to get out of the case. I have damaged my InvisiShield front protector taking it out as I have to use my fingernails. Other than that its a great product (which is actually made by Logitec).

This is why I returned it. It needs back protection but doesn't work with a skin. The build quality is meh. It's too hard to remove, and inconvenient to setup...and the keyboard is so so...not the worst ver, but not as good as many net books.

Good luck with your blog RainyDayInterns. Did you buy one? Or did you get a freebie for review?

The sale was probably refused because I'm a dick, because businesses do not accept money from dicks. Perhaps the word 'scam' was a little harsh - 'marketing experiment on unsuspecting consumers' may be closer to the truth, no?

The site have cancelled two orders using two different payment methods, and despite contacting them and being advised to use PayPal, I can confirm that they have not accepted a PayPal payment despite numerous attempts and numerous payment methods.

Just advising other readers of this thread that the item touted by your post and blog may not actually exist for purchase - yours is the only unique review on the web. When asked outright if the product existed, Brando replied that the billing address and delivery address may be different, which they are, though the PayPal account is verified so wtf etc...

If Brando is reading - your product looks awesome, and I would love to buy one. But seems I cannot. Shame. Maybe get a decent distributor?

Anyway, wtf do I care. Not much.
[ps though I do care about paying Brando, then getting a refund at a marginally worse exchange rate, and pissing my pennies away].

Very bad keyboard layout

Maybe you can keep your option open and check this one from ilounge. It is rated one of the best keyboard case in the market
http://www.ilounge.com/index.php/reviews/entry/wekreat-type-rider-for-ipad-2/

I disagree completely: This keyboard layout is very inconvenient with the far too small right shift key, and its location so close to the arrow up key: This will greatly enhance the risk for MISTYPING, and this is not the standard layout that Apple uses, where the arrow keys wisely are grouped together and the right shift key is bigger and located in a much better place on the keyboard.

For me and many other heavy writers this is a crucial factor, and the ClamCase has such an excellent keyboard layout like Apples own external keyboard (and Mac keyboards).
