Has anyone here recapped a Clamshell? being a 20 year old machine should it be done?

Replace the old capacitors on the system board. sometimes when they age they leak and damage the board. I was just wondering if anyone has recapped a Clamshell Ibook

I don’t know of anyone who’s needed to do this (yet), and so far I’ve not run into this with my Rev. C.

I have several all working perfectly, and never seen any signs of cap leakage on any Clamshell board to date. Artifacts on screen would I guess be the first sign of something wrong, but for most users I'd say "out of sight, out of mind". Dont worry about it!

SMD caps don't usually cause any problems. The screen will go bad before those ever do.
