nope.....iPad 2 is great if your buying first time...but nothing wrong with original

No. Perfectly happy with iPad1. Somewhat amusing to watch the hysteria around iPad2 upgraders, only to see all these posts of technical disappointments and regrets.

I like my first gen and because I got the lowest spec I didn't lose all that much and if I don't sell it I didn't lose anything. Safari is much faster with iOS4.3 and home sharing makes the iPad really nice around the house without all that messing with syncing or air video.

I'll run the thing until it doesn't work just like I do with all my Apple gear. Trouble is, it all still works which is why I still have a functioning 7 year old iBook G4 first gen.......

Eh, probably not

I said yesterday here that I was not b/c I didn't feel like it was a big enough upgrade. I am NOT going to sell my iPad 1 anyway as I like to keep it as backup in case anything happens to the next iPad that I buy. Just the way I like to do things.

I played with an iPad 2 the other day and I loved the feel and speed but neither were really THAT different to warrant a few hundred bucks from me.

I will wait for the 3 when I get 2 nice years out of the 1

Need a "maybe" option!

I was all set to, then I looked at the two next to each other today. Sure, if I did not have a V1 I would buy the V2, but the differences to me were not as great as I had thought they would be. Thinner, but not THAT much thinner. Lighter, but not by that much.

For now I will keep thinking about it.

I am upgrading, for the exact same reason that I upgraded from the iPhone 3G to the 3GS a couple years ago: SPEEEEED

In both cases, the current device lagged enough that it marred the experience for me. Not horribly, but enough to matter. The speed bump is enough to change that entirely.

I'm what you'd call a "power user" of the iPad. I use it for everything, including quite a bit of work. I multi task (switch between apps frequently - say from Quickoffice to a reference PDF in GoodReader to an email and back as I compose the document). I view complex PDFs in GoodReader including scans that can be slow to render.

The additional CPU power and RAM will definitely benefit me. The rest is icing on the cake.

So far looks like 63/(63+48)*15M = 8.5 million Classic iPads will find lucky new owners. :D

Kind of agree. I like to keep my devices. It's hard for me to part with them! And if something happens to my iPhone, it's nice knowing I have two more just in case.

I think the iPad 2 is a fantastic device, especially for first-time buyers. But I REALLY wanted a retina display, not to mention better cameras. So it looks like I'll be waiting. But, it is quite tempting to buy.
