classic macbook pro + ACD 20" + games

I'm tempted to buy the "old" 20" ACD (which I still love, while I'm not a big fan of glossy displays) to be used with my early 2008 MPB. I have the 512 MB Nvidia graphic card.
Will the MBP drive the ACD at full resolution ?
Since I'm a casual player I wonder also if I'll experience performance degradations or not. Maybe someone has this setup

I was just about to post near enough the same question. I need to replace my old CRT monitor and I am tempted by the 20" cinema display. I play a few games like ra3, cs, hl2 etc. Is it worth going for?

Would be also good to know if there are decent alternatives for the ACD. I was looking into some Dells but seems like they are all TN panels today, or not ?
