In other news, Hyundai outsells Porsche and BMW.

Most users don't need a pro (facebook, email, lolcat videos and doing your taxes is probably possible on an iphone or ipad even).

However for those that do, the air is not a substitute.

 I actually read your post AGAIN after you claimed that no one read it on the off chance that I missed something, but I didn't.

This is my and everyone's point... You can't really think you can analyze sales based on review totals let alone review totals from one online retailer.

Yeah, Amazon is such a small mom and pop operation that a vast falloff in reviews couldn't possibly be of any significance.

I know, but is better than opening new thread

Guys anyone can advice me where to sell my MBP 17 2010, I tried on amazon but they want over £100 for "selling fee" and gumtree is full of buyers from nowhere. and what a reasonable price I can get for it
i5,8gb, OSZ Agility 3 120+500Gb HDD, in great cond.

The problem is that the falloff in reviews is not supported by other factual evidence. You've simply read into one indicator what you want to believe. Which is fine, but the facts remain, if you dig into Apple's corporate reporting, that the 13" MBP is Apple's best selling computer.

From what friends who work at Apple stores say (including the manager of one of the biggest stores in a particular state), the cMBP continues to handily outsell the rMBP. Why? Cost.

In my world I buy 10 to 1. No rMBP's here. My world being professional business. So not dead to me.

I'm not disputing that the 13" Pro was the best selling Macbook last year and the year prior. The number of reviews at Amazon clearly supported that, as I wrote.

This year the number of reviews support the idea that the 13" Air has achieved parity with the 13" Pro and possibly surpassed it in sales, and the Retina is crushing the old 15" model in sales and may be selling as well or better than the 13" Pro and the 13" Air.

The Retina does cost a lot of money. However, there is an enormous income inequality in the USA. While 90% of the American public feels faint when they see the price of the Retina, 30 million Americans can swing the purchase with no pain.

There are some in this forum who have already purchased two Retina Pros for their household.

You still don't get it... Reviews aren't a good indicator to sales figures! I have been an amazon customer for years, been a prime customer for the last four years. I have ordered thousands of items of Amazon, but I may have left 3 reviews ever on their site.

There are some in this forum who have already purchased two Retina Pros for their household.

Again, another problem is that this forum does not represent the average consumer or even the average Apple customer.

I hope you don't want to be an analyst when you grow up...

Also no sign of deadness to me, but the latest cMBP are already available as refurbs. Quite tempting I've to say...man, I'm soo freaking indecisive right now, drives me nuts.

Amazon still has last years 13"MBP available brand spanking new for just $40 less than this years model.

They can't keep the Retina Pro base model in stock for 48 hours.
