    Hello,

I have a G4 iMac that can not boot into OS 9.
I have read that it can run classic mode in OS X.

    I currently have 10.4 installed.
I have the 10.1 and 9.2 recovery disk that came with the iMac.

How do I get classic mode if I can't install OS 9?

    I must be missing something...

    Thanks!!!

I installed Classic Mode on an aluminum Powerbook just by dragging an OS 9.2.2 system folder from a CD to the hard drive running Tiger. I don't know if your recovery discs have a system folder handily available for that, though.

I'll give that a try when I get home.

I'm actually disappointed that I can't dual boot.

I used the restore discs on a spearate partition from 10.4 and it installed 10.1 with a working classic mode. I think that's the "official" way to do it :apple:.

But your way sounds much better :D.

That worked, I just copy/pasted the System folder to my 10.4 install partition and pointed classic mode to that.

    Thanks!!
