Hello! I have the Apple Watch Steel 42 mm. I have noticed that the Sidebutton with light touches clatters, Like as it was sometimes with the power button from the iPhone 5 series. Nevertheless, the pressure point clatters perfectly but the button looks like as it is a little bit too loose. Does one of you have a similar problem?

OK I have just gotten off the phone with support. They were sympathetic about the issue and have arranged for a new one to be sent. I spoke with AppleCare initially and was then transferred to sales who have arranged a replacement.

Good luck in getting your watch sorted...

Was trying out some watches earlier at the Apple Store and the watches I tried seemed to have the same thing which I thought might be pretty normal.

My side button (Sport) is a bit loose too. Doesn't make a noise, but can move it probably half a millimetre. Considering I'm not going to be using that button any time soon (no Apple Pay and no other Apple Watch-toting friends), it's not a big deal.

Mines the same on my 38mm SS. Returning it as well. Not sure if I'll get a like for like replacement as I've had my friends 42mm and it feels a better size. So I'll probably return it and get that size. I know I'll have to wait but at least I'll get a better size and one without the side button clattering (hopefully).

Yeh it's not the small movement that bothers me, after all most mechanical switches are going to have this. It's the extra clicking noise when the button is released that was the problem.

It's like the button assembly isn't quite right...

Apple care replaces with white box replacement which will be a new one without retail packaging. Is this what you guys are referring to? Going through sales will simply be an exchange and that process can take two months..?

At long as you are within the 14 day return period, Apple Online Store will simply exchange for a new retail box unit. I doubt there are any white-box replacements out there yet.

I have heard some people successfully made exchanges in-store, however had to wait for the stores to order replacement units for them.

I was just told that an exchange for a retail packaging unit will be the same time as ordering a brand new unit.

Exchanging through Apple care will be a few days and it's a white box unit that is brand new.

I think you guys are setting yourself up for trouble.

Mine was arranged through Online Store, you only receive white-box if passed 14 day return period.

My ship time is immediate upon Apple receiving the defective watch back.

At this point, anyone who purchased through the Online Store should be setting up an exchange there, not through Apple Care.

I'm afraid you're wrong.

Apple doesn't even carry units in store.. No idea where you got your information.

Also: white box replacements now are brand new because circulation has not been or long enough.
