They set examples for those that look up to them, and then get disappointed when they make announcements like this. His, makes me loose all interest in his music. Nuff said.
I agree with you, although for entirely different reasons.
By staying in the closet for so long, even though everyone knew he was gay, he diminished what it is to be gay. He viewed it as something shameful and something he would like to cover up like a horrible disease. Imagine the message that sent to his fans (who let's face it, already need help if they are his fans

), that it's appropriate to be ashamed of who you are.
As for you, if you think for some reason that his music is going to change suddenly because now you know something about him that you didn't before (although really, how could you not know????

), then that is saddening.
Who cares if he's gay? The real questions are... is he a PC? Is he not a human thinking or a human doing, but just a human being?
ROFL.
As for those who say "why should we care about this?" I mostly agree, but I think it's important to note that in this case it is a vindication of the media which has said this for so long, and it serves as an important lesson for us all. The fact that it took so long for him to admit the truth shows how backwards our society still is (not to turn this into PRSI or anything, so I'll stop now).
