Hi internet! I have a problem - Obviously, :)
My problem is that I have a few documents and a few Programs on the desktop and I want them to go away - without deleting them.
And not to the, sidebar. What do I do, they're not just shortcuts. I tried removing a program that I already have in the sidebar to dissapear from the desktop but I was unsuccesfull. I also want the Hard Drive to go away :) without deleting it ofcourse

Drag the apps into the applications folder, documents into your documents folder? As for the hard drive image, live with it :p

are they really shortcuts to the apps? (a little arrow on the bottom left corner of the icon) If so they can be deleted without it removing the app itself.

For the hard drive [Finder] > [Preferences...] > [General] then uncheck what you don't want to see. Don't stop the external disks and CDs from showing it is a pain in the ass when you do that, unless you are leaving your sidebar "cluttered" too. I personally like all my HDD on the desktop since I go to them regularly.
