Ok, so maybe this is a little basic, but my computer has been slowing down over the years with the new OS updates. I heard "fresh" installing it is the way to go. So what is the process of removing everything from this computer, fresh installing os 10 and getting all my data and settings back on here?

Thanks,

Could be other reasons for a slow machine. Check your RAM use by using Activity Monitor. Check your disk by using Disk Utility and Verify Disk.

To restore your data you should probably back up using Time Machine on an external hard drive.
