Hi all,

I am considering doing a clean install of Catalina on my MBP mid 2014, so it's a pretty old device. I've made a backup and should be safe in terms of data recovery if needed. Currently, I am in the process of creating a boot USB flash drive.
Before I wipe the disk, would you recommend I should sign out of iCloud first? Or will wiping do the trick anyway?

Hope this make sense, any advice is very much appreciated!

I have always signed out in that situation, because if the disk is going to be wiped, it's the last chance you'll get to clean up that session.

Probably doesn't matter much either way, but don't see any reason not to.

I would recommend you sign out first, in case your machine is not possible to be reinstalled (underlying hardware issue uncovered during setup, etc.).
