I used a USB in order to perform a clean install of 10.9, and it seems that because of the DYI USB for some reason the Recovery HD partition isnt created, thus FileVault doesn not work.

I used this guide to create USB http://www.macworld.com/article/2056561/how-to-make-a-bootable-mavericks-install-drive.html


Anyone knows how to have a proper clean install with recovery HD?

Edit: Found that the method I used was outdated, there is a better way to create an USB w will install Recovery HD

I just used this script provided by the author. Linked below. I also used DiskMaker also linked below with the beta program for Mavericks. Both work but I have a clean USB thumb drive, no file vault used on either..CORSAIR Voyager series
