I have a MacBook Pro 10.8.5 which I would like to wipe and do a clean install and update to Yosemite.

It is only used as a "capture" device in a photography studio so clean install is straightforward enough.

However it has a Boot Camp Windows XP partition (only used as a sole PC device in the business)

What I'd like to do is Wipe the whole HD (both partitions) but can I re-install / re-createthe the windows partition from a clone / backup without starting from scratch again.

Any assistance greatly appreciated!

You can erase just the OS X partition. You can probably clone the Windows partition using a 3rd party software or possibly Disk Utility.
