What are the easiest ways to do this?

My problem is I keep getting disk errors on verfiy disk. I boot into the installation CD, fix the errors but new ones pop up after a week or so.

I have read a few guides on how to clean install Lion but they all seem different and confusing... I just want one clear concise guide.. surely it can't be this hard?

Also, backing up wise.. does Timemachine suffice? I want to keep my Dropbox folder, documents and Itunes. Does time machine save all this jazz and fine enough for me to grab it back? Any hints/tips on time machine would be much appreciated and getting my itunes & docs back.

By backing up do you mean restore from backup?

I make a lion USB thumb drive and installed lion. Then at first boot during the setup it asks if you want to restore. Plug in the time machine backup drive and restore from it.

I dont know my options tbh....

Programs like Itunes are taking 20 seconds to load.

I just want them to work. I've tried repair disk/permissions... now I'm going for the 'clean install'.

My plan was to format then just use time machine to grab my music... copy+paste it to a folder, then get my new itunes to sort it all out.

You need to get your disk issues sorted out. If you keep getting errors because your disk is hosed it will not matter that you reinstall software; it will still create problems.

What are the errors? Have you tried something like Disk Warrior or Tech Tools?
