Here(-ish)
Haven't seen this discussion anywhere, so I thought I'd speculate.

Given that Apple is now including regulatory info on the devices with iOS 9, does anyone think they've been given the ok to NOT have it printed on the backs of the devices, keeping them clean?

There was a post about this a couple of weeks ago. I think that there is a good chance it will be clean. I can see Apple (more than any other company) doing this, especially since it would be pointless to include them both in the software and the phone.

It would be nice if they did but somehow I have a feeling they won't. I wouldn't be surprised if legally they still need to include it on the back of the device.

I was hoping that perhaps the forum may include someone with knowledge of this. I personally don't know if including it electronically on the device is enough or not, but as someone has already mentioned, if there is a company that cares enough about aesthetics to trailblazer this, it's Apple.

Regulatory info has been in the Settings app for years now, it's just that it's slightly more accessible in iOS 9 than in the past. This could mean the 6S will be clean on the back, but it's not a 100% lock.

Turns out I was right. Definitely a cleaner rear. I like it.

although it looks cleaner, it doesn't really phase me since it's always been there.. I like the [.S.] name tho, nice touch.

No IMEI number on the back means you'll now have to find it on the sim card tray, if your phone is dead or you're otherwise unable to access it from the screen.

According to the images here, everything is the same except for the FCC, Recycle thing and all that is gone and the S model notation is now on the back. IMEI and other info is still visible.

I don't understand why anything is on the rear of the device except from the apple logo, iPhone and the S stamp. It annoys me that we still have to have those ugly symbols on our phones. I swear a lot of phones don't have this!

It's an US government requirement (now modified to show just the actual numbers rather than in addition to the symbols). The reason you don't see them on other phones is that they're hidden under the removable battery cover. There's no such cover on the iPhone.
