CMP 5,1with 32 GB ram and a lot of HD space, Boot ROM 141.0.0.0.0. Trying to do a clean install of Mojave on a OWC Accelsior. Had been using Mojave for a few months with no problems, but need to wipe the SSD and do a clean install. When I try the install it fails with "installer resources not found" message. Tried running the installer from a backup drive, from a copy on the SSD, and from a USB stick. Get the same message on all try. didn't find anything helpful with search. Any ideas?

And now I've tried reinstalling High Sierra on the Accelsior. It installed fine, but when I attempted to install Mojave over it I get the same message. I've always considered Macroumors forum the best place for difficult problems with my CMP and am surprised that I've seen no responses so far. I'm currently attempting to restore the Accelsior from the backup and then I'll try to instal 10.14.4

Wonder if there was a ROM update included for your machine. I do know for certain there was a ROM update included for both Retina MacBook early 2016 and late 2012 iMac. With an after market SSD the failure to install 10.14.4 might be coupled with a possible ROM upgrade?

Thanks for the response. When I first attempted the clean install I was prompted for the firmware update and IT went smoothly. Then after the reboot I started getting the resources not found message that started this 3 day mess. Yes I dl'd the full installer 4 times now.

You downloaded the correct version for MP5,1 via the script?

I did the 10.14.4 install over a clean install of 10.14.3.
No problems at all ( . . . yet )
