Hi all

been getting random reboots with the machine for some reason or other, so decided to reinstall OS High Sierra from scratch. Was all ok last night until I woke up the Mac this morning and about an hour or so later, freezing and rebooting FFS!

It did it about 3/4 times and I caught it on video, you can hear some weird audio as its frozen then reboots itself, anyone got any ideas?

Did all resets, tests etc and no found issues.

Planned Obsolescence. This is a common problem with nMP 2013. There needs to be a fix....did you clean install?

Clean install online straight from Apple not from usb stick
Of course the remark above of "planned obsolensce" is pure nonsense as is that it is "a common problem with nMP 2013".
I have one since April 2014 and never experienced what your computer suffers.
I would rather think of a bug in the version of High Sierra you have.
See if a newer coming version update solves it.
Don't worry of any planned obsolence regarding your mac.
It should work fine for many years but of course hardware unintended problems can affect any computer, although because High Sierra is so new my suspicion goes first in that direction.
Only if coming updates do not get rid of it I would consider the possibility of an hardware fault.
Good luck!
Ed

I am getting a new set of 64GB ram incase it was messing things up, I took out two modules and has been fine so will see when the new ones arrive

I get random freezes reboots, with my 2013, more so than any other iMac/Macbook/Mini (sadly i've had a few...).

Most recent (yesterday being related to where I plug in my mouse, probably the mouse but still frustrating how it could take down an OS. On prior occasions in the last year I've had:
  • Memory issues... thanks Crucial
  • OS upgrade issues... thanks Apple
  • Games crashing OS... thanks Guildwars
Maybe the machine is more sensitive... don't know but it's pretty frustrating when the screen freezes and then 10-15 seconds later if just restarts.
