Edit: topic should have been (NO USB)*....

So i'm starting to prepair my 2011 Macbook Air for tommorow.
Anybody out there with GM build, who can tell me if it will be posible for me to a do complete clean install without using a USB Drive.

Maybe posible to upgrade the recocvery partition to install Mountain Lion?
Or even better, word from apple on build in recovery, to do clean install?

The recovery partition only reinstalls the OS that was installed at the time it was created. In theory, you could upgrade to Mountain Lion, and then use the recovery partition to recover to a clean partition of Mountain Lion.

No one knows if Internet Recovery will have Mountain Lion the day it's released, or if you will be able to choose an OS, or if it will be weeks after released.

Just wondering, is there a reason you don't want to install with a USB drive?

Unless an easier solution comes to light: I'm going to be installing (via upgrade from Lion) ML tomorrow, and when I get home I'm going to boot into the Recovery Partition and do a clean install from there.

Going through the steps with a USB drive, etc. is just too much work for me. Sure, maybe it's easier now than I remember, but then again it isn't Apple sanctioned.
