Clean up

If i do a clean up through my disk utility should i back up pics etc.... on a disk or are they safe?

I Always Do

A backup before cleaning up.....Its 99.99% safe, but I wouldn't chance it....Besides, if you are using an external HDD for backups ( as I do) it only takes a couple of minutes with TM as long as you do it regularly.

no i back stuff up but i have had my mac for about 2 years now just never done it we where wondering how it worked exactly
