Cleaning dirt around home button of white iPhone?

There's a gross ring of dirt around the edge of the home button on my otherwise shiny white iPhone.

What's the best way of cleaning that out?
I tried a pushpin edge but even it seemed to be too thick.

Any suggestions?

Lol... I wash them normally but I guess there's just no avoiding crud getting around the edges.

Use some rubbing alcohol. Works on a non-responsive home button as well.

Turn off your phone. Get a slight damp cloth Push the button and clean the edges.

I use Invisible Glass Auto wipes. They're pretty good at cleaning just about anything IMO.

Make sure its a small amount of moisture not a damp cloth.

Rubbing alcohol + cotton swab. Just barely dip the cotton swab in isopropyl alcohol, depress the button, and swab around the edges.

get a piece of paper and use the edges to go around it

Is it really nescesarry to turn off the phone?

I was cleaning my screen with some alcohol and went over the speaker under the FaceTime camera.
