well guys here it is glossy or matt

get a little windowleane or other window polish with vinegar spray on to a paper kitchen roll NEVER THE SCREEN DIRECT
polish the screen with that and dry with a soft cloth this will leave it static free and not scratch the screen try not to scurb the screen after all its only finger prints

for the outer casing water on a tea towel damp give it a good rub and dry with soft cloth

super clean and like new

newbie mac from pc bye bye pc the dark side is now the other side and the only side!

Co-sign, NEVER ever use window cleaner on an LCD monitor or expensive piece of electronic as well! I've heard a handful of horror stories of people using windex or things similar to it on there lcd monitor's. Again, never use window cleaner on an LCD!!

cleaning

Doesn't the macbook pro or any macbook come with a little black-lintless cloth? Why don't you just use that.. damp it up a little and wipe away????

You better go to your local Music store or Walmart, you will find a cheap screen cleaner (solution + microfiber) for $10 bucks.

I'm new to this forum, so here goes.....

I have been using the wipes for electronics from Wal Mart (I think they are called "Little Screen Clean") and they have been streaking my Macbook matte pro screen. Not sure I would recommend them....

Hot Water "Damp" Paper Towel Works Great!

Hi guys. I have used both high quality microfiber towel and paper towel and I must say that using a warm to hot water "damp" (must stress damp and not wet) paper towel cleans both the metal body and screen (gloss and anti-gloss) of the macbook pro and returns it's appearance to like new condition.

The paper towel won't scratch the body or the screen (as long as you are using a towel that doesn't have dirt on it) and does not require any soap or solvent to assist in cleaning. I am very particular about my equipment and I will say that it does work (no brainer that it would). If you don't already have a microfiber towel, you probably don't need to spend the money when a cheap and more than likely already available paper towel and warm water will work as effectively.

Fellowes LCD screen cleaner spray and a high quality micro fibre, keeps the mac gleaming!
