I know it’s too soon to tell but wonder if it will be easy to clean around the crown? Just today I had to clean around mine with a damp cloth to loosen up the crown .

Weekly cleaning:
I’d use compressed air first to get dirt and dust out before using water and mild soap. Then a shot of compressed air then dry.

Daily cleaning:
Treat like an NES cartridge. Just blow on the thing.

I've worn my S4 and S7 in the shower every day and plan on the same with the Ultra - never had a problem and since the Ultra can be used for diving ...

I never shower or swim with the watch, but I never have dirt on the crown like you describe. And my watch is always on with everything that I do except work (not allowed to wear anything)

Weekly cleaning : I rub it against my shirt when I put it on the charger, I also tend to skip this for weeks on end 😂

I’ll be wearing it in the shower, as I do my other watches. I do indoor bouldering with my Graphite S6 so it gets covered in very fine chalk powder three times a week. Always shower with it on after!

Mine is just a regular AW series 7, not Ultra. I am curious if others have strategies for cleaning the dust that gets into every line, such as between the glass and the metal, on front and back?
I’ve also notice dust easily and frequently get lodged around the crown area. I guess canned air may be a better method as someone posted above. For what I have around the house I find that an old toothbrush works, not without some effort.
In particular I notice sand gets into these areas very often, or maybe it’s just dust particles. I do use it in the ocean / beach area but no more than 1-2 times a month, and when I do it’s only for like a 10-20 minute “swim” that is half wading due to wave action.
I realize I can just not wear it in salt water or sand areas, but I prefer to use it, same with pool swimming, I enjoy tracking the workout as well as just knowing what time it is, to avoid sunburn etc.

I wonder if the Ultra has a better seal or dust rating, and whether it is less prone to the above dust in all the many crevices, or not.

With an early edition Apple Watch I would notice, especially in the summer when I might have sunscreen on, that the crown would become less smooth when rotating. I was able to just run some warm water over it while rotating or taking a wet q tip to rub along between the crown and case. Worked very well, very smooth again, and caused no issues. This was on a series 0 or 3 watch. I would imagine the current versions are even better sealed.

I just shower with mine. Have with them all. Once out I wipe the screen with a microfiber towel.

If your shower tiles get soap scum on them, imagine what it would do to your watch.

Rinsing it off and drying it with the towel takes care of that, no signs of soap scum in well over 3+ years…now imagine your shower tiles if those get rinsed off and dried after every use…

Yeah that bugs me when the crown gets somewhat stuck or less smooth, happens to me with sand but probably other stuff too. Good idea with the Q tip, I’ll try that next time.
