Cleaning up iPhoto

A quick question:

I've got lots of unnecessary junk in iPhoto: Both duplicate photos and thumbnails of pics that I accidentally imported from previous mac when tranferring files.

Are there are any free (or cheap, ie sub $15) utilities that help me clean this up without spending hours going through the photos manually?
