Hi There!
Okay so for father in law's 70th, we got him an iMac, and he's tech savvy and excited to get everything set up. We spent some time today importing music from like 5 old computers onto the iMac, and we're attempting to unify everything in one iTunes library. One issue. We found a bunch of old Fairplay iTunes DRM files from like 2007. Some of the files are authenticated to his account. Some are authenticated to his wife's. They would both like their own libraries, all the files, etc. I want to get rid of DRM. They are also both good with getting iTunes Match / iTunes Music Library Subscriptions. All the files, even those authenticated to the wrong account, are currently in one iTunes Library. I see a couple paths... Does this one make sense?
1) Create two libraries.
2) Separate the files authenticated to person1 from those authenticated to person2.
3) Enable iTunes Match / iCloud Music Library for both accounts.
4) Delete / re-download non-DRM files.
5) Re-merge non-DRM files.
Is my assumption that iTunes Music Library fixes the DRM issue correct? THANKS!
