Anyone have any thoughts about the CleanMyMac3 application. Is it worth $40?

No, no, no. Avoid, avoid, avoid. I wouldn’t install it if I got it for nowt.

If you want applications that claim to do what CMM does, AppCleaner and MalwareBytes is all you need. Plus they’re free.

Not sure that I'd call it "scam software"... but most definitely not needed... and its aggressive "cleaning" could actually do more harm than good.

These programs have a quirk in that they sometimes remove system files, resulting in a non-bootable system and a pain to figure out what's wrong.

As others have stated, I would avoid this for a variety of reasons

• Not really needed
• Can cause more harm than good
• Other options are better/free

If you really want to use something, consider using:

• Malwarebytes
• OnyX
• AppCleaner
