Hi, I am using Mac Leapord laptop. I want to write an apple script that will clear the history of "Finder" and "Quicktime".
If I know what are the files associated with history from terminal, I can just delete those files using apple script to clear them.
Where can I find history related to finder and quicktime in file system of Mac?

For Finder you'll find stuff in its preference file, com.apple.finder.plist.

For Quicktime, see its preference file, com.apple.quicktimeplayer.plist.

These aren't files you can just delete though, at least not if you don't want to have to reset your preferences for these apps.

Take a look at this old, but still relevant thread.

The following script is not clearing the recent files list from quicktime player
    Code:
tell application "QuickTime Player" to quit
do shell script "defaults write com.apple.quicktimeplayer recent-folders {}"
    delay 2
tell application "QuickTime Player" to activate
