Clearing Lockscreen Notifications?

Is this possible? Or do I have to unlock the phone to clear them?

You do have to unlock it first.

When you unlock all of the lock screen notifications are cleared. The notification shade however will stay until you open the app that is giving the notifications or you click the clear button.

I think we all understand that, He said you could tap on the notification and a clear button appears, which is completely false.
