Google maps updated the satellite imagery for my area, but because I had already had viewed some of my neighborhood some of the old pictures are cached. Is there a way to clear the cached contents in the Google Maps application?

(some areas are really awkward now because the old and the new pictures don't align perfectly so I will see the same building next to itself)

I don't know for certain, but surely it only caches a certain amount? If so, you could just browse around a lot (the world's a big place!) and then go back to your area.

Thanks for the idea. I will give it a more thorough run through, but initially it didn't seem to work (hooked up to a wireless network and spent 5 minutes zooming around). But then again, you are right, at some point it has to stop saving everything so I will try it more and see if it works. I tried clearing my recent history list in Maps, but that didn't help either.
