Ahhhhh!!!!

Less than $4,000 with 4 hours left!! Let's get to 225K!

I thought Apple shut this down long ago?

I can't imagine they would allow someone to produce something like this without a hefty license fee for their patents, which would eliminate virtually any profits Click might hope to make.

Apple won't be able to stop people from manufacturing adapters for their watches. If they do in fact stop Click, someone else out there will make an adapter.

Freebies

Would one of you just go pledge another $2800 so I can get a third set and free band??

Thanks

They will be able to stop it if it's a US company. But you're right, they won't be able to easily stop a Chinese company. But Apple will make sure if Apple customers are buying cheap Chinese adapters, they will be just that -- cheap.

And we still don't know if there's some kind of DRM in the bands preventing any but Apple and authorized third party licensees.

Where did you hear about it being shut down? Can you provide a link? I never heard that but maybe.

They never shut it down. People just talked about apple could try to shut it down. I don't think they will. There are several companies making products like this or even watch bands.

Just backed... Three hours to go, hopefully it will make the $225k stretch goal!

Nice, so somebody else was shut down earlier for trying this, presumably by Apple. I already gave Apple my money for a Milanese loop and two sport bands so I would appreciate the freedom at this point to get whatever else I want. At first I didn't like the idea much but it gives a lot more variety down the road.

I'm all for more choice. But I must say with all of this focus on fashion I'm kind of surprised we haven't heard anything about third party licensees by now -- I'd expect DG, LV, Chanel, Marc Jacobs, etc would love to get in on the Watch band market, and it would help with Apple's efforts to legitimize its fashion standing. Maybe Apple has no intention of licensing bands, at least not for a while ...

I did the 2 click Ms early on for $35 because we were already getting 1 free watch band. Now that we will probably be getting a free click M at 225k, I should probably change it to $30 for 1 click M and a watch band, this way I'll have 2 bands and 2 click Ms.

Can we just change it any time before it closes out? I've never done one of these before.

EDIT: I guess the real question is how good are the watch bands? In particular, I'm thinking of getting the black link bracelet and then the grey leather band.

Damn, what's going to happen is people changing their reward at the last minute after 225k which is going to bring the $$ back down.

gonna be close!

I really want to back this. At $35 for two adapters (with the bonus) and a watchband it seems like a great deal. But I'm just concerned of Apple tries to shut them down after they are funded then we are all out the money.

Why would apple shut them down? There will be 100s of third party accessory developers popping up over the next few months.

I was reading the article posted a few back. It mentioned one adapter was already shut down.
