iPod touch Click Home Button Once, Does Double Click Shortcut Action Problem

Lately, my 32GB iPod Touch running 3.1.2 software has been acting up. 90% of the time, when I click my home button to try to go to the home screen from an application (such as Safari or Facebook), it will do the double click shortcut action which I have set to as music, which is really annoying. Does anyone have this problem? And if so, how can I fix this?
