Hi All,
I'm not sure if i'm allowed to do this but i'm out of options. A new site for a client is crashing on ipad 3 and apparently not loading on window xp, firefox?

Please help me test this site!

I've tested on an ipad 2 and it works, safari, chrome, firefox (mac & pc) and also works.

Pls when listing works - please name device, browser and ios/operating system.

Let me know if it works for you?

If i'm not allowed to do this pls accept my apologies.

Thanks in advance!

Crashes on mine.

Some info:
iPad 3 v5.1.1
Safari
Rebooted iPad prior to testing your site.

First time it crashed. I reloaded it and it loads up nicely. Clicked around to the portfolio link and it crashed again.

Tried on Chrome version 19.0.1084.60
Put in URL, crashed. Tried again, it crashed.

Nothing running in the background either to ensure all resources were available. Sorry that I cannot tell you why it happens but if it's not happening on your iPad 2 then I am baffled.

Tried it on iPad 3, Safari crashes.

Works OK on Safari 5.1.7 on Windows. Although the transitions are slow and a bit juddery.

Works fine on Firefox 14.0.1 on Windows, and the transitions are smooth.

Site still crashes.. Removed hypercache.. Please could anyone test again?

I'm wondering if this isn't a bug in Safari on Ipad 3.. due to resources?
damn its bothering me now and its not even my clients site :p
im looking through the crash logs on my ipad now.. seeing if i can find anything useful as to it being the ipads resources or hardware

Crashed iPad, works on N7, though it uses the 4 cores constantly.
So the site is resource hungry then.. maybe if i reduce all the images filesize/size it'll be less hungry.. I remember reading somewhere about safari on the ipad/iphone having a limit..?

Funny thing is it works perfectly on the iphone 4, iphone 4s, ipad 2.. and i've been told ipad 1..? Any guesses?

I remember speaking to the guy who wrote the icabmobile app a while ago and he said something about the double pixeling used on the retina display apparently uses a tonne of memory to do what it's doing, perhaps the new iPad is running out of memory?

I tried your site on my droid and when I closed the tab, it released 250meg of ram. iPads force close when a app runs out of memory..

yeahh maybe due to it scaling the retina resolution?

It will crash desktop Safari eventually. It is hard to tell what is going on without looking directly at the JS but clearly instead of loading up say 5 images and swapping between them, it just keeps loading them over and over consuming more ram and cpu time. In the 5-10 min I had the window open Safari kept 50-100% cpu utilized the whole time and went from ~700mb ram to over a gigabyte. (ivy bridge i7 with 8gb ram)

Compared to all of the image rotators that I have used in the past, this is serious overkill.

If running out of ram/memory was the problem surely then the site wouldn't work properly in the ipad1 and ipad 2? At this stage it is only crashing the ipad3 - and not over time but immediately when loading the galleries?

Thanks all for testing i now need you to please test this:

on an ipad 3 - i need you to go to portfolio >> Leisure

Tell me if it crashes..

I have reduced the number of images from the gallery to see if it's a resources problem..

Wish i could test myself - thing it's time for an ipad 3..

Please let me know.

Working is not the same thing as working right (or as intended). Your libraries are causing excessive CPU and RAM usage. Period.

Thanks for letting me know:

Is it crashing when clicking "Portfolio" or when you click one of the galleries i.e. "Leisure"

I've reduced the gallery to 4 images please try this direct link and let me know if it crashes.

Thanks in advance

loads when i go directly through that link. if i click any others from the leisure i get crashes
Could you test these then for me?
Links no longer available

It's just to see if it crashes on the original site and direct links - without clicking the navigation.. Sorry to bother but trouble shooting is ridiculous without the device.
