How anyone can be entertained over watching dogs tear each other apart is beyond me. These type of people have absolutely no morals.

But come football season, every American will conveniently forget as they get sucked into the commercialism of this spectator sport.

Wow, the NFL = Overpriced, overpaid jacka**s that only got through school because they could play a childs game so well.

Sports annoy me.

I cant believe that these idiots would actually do dog fighting. Thats just wrong, and cruel.

because we know these football players hang out at the library or the muesem or even on the internet, the out with the same group of people theve been with all there lives, encouraging them to still do the things they did when they were younger, so i can see how they would have no idea...

Exactly-obviously they don't think it's wrong. I'm guessing that it is not possible that keyserzoze and Koodauw have ever done anything that was wrong to someone else, but was not against their own conscience? This thread is full of accusations of the worst kinds of crimes against humanity(well dogs), with name calling and hopes of terrible things happening to these "worthless" people. Too bad we don't get this upset about killing babies...
let the flaming begin

If you are a football player you can take steroids, beat your wife, do drugs and get caught drunk & speeding in an SUV filled with firearms and nobody will notice - that's pretty much in a football player's job description these days, right? But cruelty to animals, that'll get people furious.

They're all knuckleheads anyway. Hopefully they'll get more than a slap on the wrist. PETA is probably coordinating some suicide car bombings as we speak.

Portis should've stayed in Denver.

I used to think that (in fact I was near inconsolable when he chose to leave), but I've been seeing more and more that he's a loose cannon. First he showed up in those gang videos and now this. The Broncos are better off now without his kind of bad press.

Well, I may be one of the few here but hmmmmm, different strokes for different folks. Dog fighting was legal in US till about 100 years ago, it wasn't considered a crime, but obviously the laws since then have changed. Dog fighting is absolutely legal in a lot of countries. Bull fighting is legal in Spain, as some people may not like it but it is a part of their heritage/history. I am not saying it is right but I don't think dog fighting makes Portis or Vick an idiot, people have the weirdest fetishes in the world, as long as he is not into killing people I don't consider him some kind of dangerous to the society individual.

Besides, how come our president can cheat and lie to our country and go to war against Iraq and be responsible for thousands of innocent American and Iraqi HUMAN lives and yet he is getting away with it? Some laws and regulations, huh?

I agree.

I don't agree. Bush has made some terrible mistakes, but I don't believe he has lied or cheated. He has taken poor advice, and stood by it no matter what, but that does not make him a liar...it just makes him guilty of bad judgement. As far as the lives lost, it is terrible and I believe everyone hates war, but essentially that is what war is about-blowing things up and killing people. It's a sad thing.

How a living American in 2007 could not know this I have no idea.

Guess I must be dead.

Sports, like i give a crap.

Dont defend dog fighting.

It IS illegal here, so leave the US if you want to see dogs killing each other for the economic benefit of human beings. Seriously, no one wants to hear it. In this country, animal cruelty is cruel. If you dont feel that way, I dont know what's wrong with you.

I know this thread is about dog fighting and I went a little off topic but in all reality, Bush is the US president, he is the person that represents us, he is the person that has the power of declaring war upon another country. US accused Iraq of having weapons of mass destructions, US accused Iraq of sponsoring terrorism, and so far they have found jack as weapons of mass destruction are concerned and they also found no direct link to Hussein and Al-Qaida (it actually gets better than this because Hussein actually didn't tolerate terrorism and actually executed anyone linked to it), but of course no US media will acknowledge this.

Anyway, if I were to attack another country (where there are US soldiers lifes at risk as well as billions of dollars in expenses) I would have to be pretty damn sure of the facts and actually would have to see concrete evidence without any reasonable doubt before I would engage in war. The fact of the matter is that US wants to control the oil fields in Middle East and another fact is that Hussein wanted to switch it's oil transactions to Euro (which would significantly hit the value of US dollar which is not a good thing for US government/economy)

Anyway, as far as dog fighting is concerned, laws change every day, what is right today, will be wrong tomorrow, either way, dog fighting is illegal in US but so is cocaine and excessive speed, people still do it, no matter what the consequences are they still do what they think is right and/or makes them feel good. But in my eyes, as long as they are not hurting physically another person then that is not a major crime. And what is up with being politically correct these days? No one is allowed to say what they really think, only what everyone expects him to say. And who is going to lock up the damn mosquito that bit me yesterday on my deck at my property? Who knows, it may even contaminated me with some disease, who do I complain to? :p

Dog fighting is morally wrong but that is not something that should make front page news of every major news outlet.
