i just got my 1st iphone this afternoon! (wooooo!!) good bye verizon.

before i did anything i installed 2.1 so i don't know if this was an issue before hand or not. as soon as i open up the clock app it promptly crashed, same thing when i go to settings then click "date and time".

is this a new bug or did you peeps have it before too? i restored once and it's still happening.

First generation iPhone, 2.1's clock app working fine, in all ways, including the settings screen, the clock at the top, and the button on the home screen.

I had same and managed to fix it by doing:

1. Change language to something and change it back.
2. After that change region format to something else and change it back.
3. ???
4. Profit!

If you can go to "Time and Date" after that, it should work properly from now on.

Thank god from coding background, I managed to understand problem was in regional settings (atleast in my case) :)

Thanks!

Thanks, Hyuga

You really made my day, I was having the same problem and I was getting sufficiently bitter that my brand new IPhone was broken this badly - even after restoring the infernal thing to its factory settings.

But your little trick worked for me too, and I'm now happily at point 4. of your algorithm :)

For this reason, I decided to join the forum to thank you :)

If you do infact write software, you must also appreciate the fact that the bug revealed, that apple is indeed loading the contents of each menu only just before showing it. The "Mail, Contacts, Calendar" settings menu also crashed (for me) but not before swiping (or whatever it is called) down to the calendar segment.

I've never really had any problems at all with the Clock app.

However, this time around Apple DID change the settings for the UK to allow AM/PM. (Which has created a bug on the slide to unlock screen for many people (such as me)).
